Junkie (I Was)
You lost your way and I couldn’t find the path back to you. Thinkin’ that mathematical precision would solve the division between us. New photographs have me pickin’ at heart scabs Until the pain mixes with pleasure knowin’ that just a glimpse At the new you is enough to give this addict it’s fix. My veins reign in the pain and house the warm high that past memories...

A: …there was a time when I wished I was him. But everything happens for a reason. I wouldn’t trade the times I had with ******** for the world and I’d endure that heartache in a second if I have to.
B: Even if you knew the outcome would still be the same?
A: No doubt. I learned a lot from her. I really don’t have any contact with her anymore, but I still consider her to be one of my great friends - mainly because she knows all there is to know about me and I know all there is to know about her.
B: That’s real. Kinda puts things into perspective for me.
A: Everyone you meet is a potential teacher, man. ******** was one of my greatest teachers and I’m always going to love her for that. I also realize that I can love without being in love.
B: True. I wish I’m at that point right now.
A: You just got to step back sometimes and say, ‘Thank you.’
B: ‘Thank you,’ to who and for what?
A: To whomever and for whatever. ‘Thank you for showing me the wrong way, now I don’t have to learn the hard way.’
B: Makes sense, I’ll apply that. Thanks as usual.
A: Of course, it’s just your perspective, really. Only positive things happen to positive people.
B: I really needa get on that. I’ve been too pessimistic lately.
A: It’s OK man. I think that just means you analyze things too much and you have a high self-monitor - which can be a really good thing to have. Just realize that you’re always going to be over-analytical, that’s your personality and it’s not a bad thing. It shows that you care.
B: Maybe you’re right. You usually are haha.

Verbal Herbal Remedy
Peace be my words unfurled on tongues of red carpet, Welcoming each syllable like the celebrity status it knows it has. Lights and cameras flash their scrutiny on my relevant rhetoric. So I instruct a sentence to pose proudly. Take a picture of this scripture, truth will hit ya. Split ya with wits honed beneath the chromosomes that kissed ya ears. I write to breathe life into the thoughts of my...
